The Bombay High Court bench on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of former Goa Tourism Minister Francisco Mickey Pacheco in connection with the death of his friend Nadia Torrado.
Former Goa tourism minister Francisco Mickey Pacheco has moved the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with the death of his friend Nadia Torrado in Chennai. The bail plea is likely to be listed for hearing on Thursday. The Goa bench of the Bombay high court had on June 21 rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Pacheco. It had also turned down the bail plea of his close aide Lyndon Monteiro on technical grounds.
The wife of Fransisco Pacheco was questioned by the Crime Branch on Saturday in connection with the death of his friend, even as the former Goa minister and his close aide Lyndon Monteiro remained absconding for the sixth day. "We had made an application that a lawyer be allowed to accompany her, which was refused by the Crime Branch," said her lawyer Yatish Naik. Sources said Viola was asked about the relations between the deceased Nadia Torrado and Pacheco.
An aide of Fransisco Pacheco has moved the Bombay high court in the case relating to the death of Pacheco's friend Nadia Torrado, claiming that the former Goa minister was being falsely implicated. The Goa bench of the high court has fixed the date of the hearing of the petition filed by Lyndon Monteiro, officer on special duty to Fransisco Pacheco, on June 14. The OSD in his anticipatory bail plea has said the former minister is being falsely implicated".
